The Disability Certificate (CUD) is a public document of national validity, free, of voluntary management and issued by an interdisciplinary Evaluation Board that certifies the disability of a person. It is a very important tool that allows you to exercise the Rights established in Laws 22,431 and 24,901 that contemplate all benefits and support systems for people with disabilities. It is a personal document, therefore, in the event of its loss, the complaint must be made immediately and contact the corresponding Evaluation Board, according to the owner's address, to process a new certificate.
- ANSES family allowances (Law 22,431, Art. 14)
- Full coverage of basic habilitation and rehabilitation in union healthcare, private health insurance companies and the federal program “Include Health” (Law 24,901)
- Comprehensive medication coverage (Law No. 23,661, art. 28).
- Free public transportation across the country (Decree 38/2004)
- Employment in the public sector, according to Labor Quota Law 25,689
- Prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs, hearing aids.
- Schooling at all levels in common education establishments with individualized support systems.
- The right to demand the removal of architectural barriers or any other element that hinders access to public or private locations
- International access sticker for vehicles allowing free parking for people with disabilities, always subject to local traffic laws in each jurisdiction
- The right to reserve an exclusive parking space on the street in front of their home for people with severe motor impairment
- Tax exemptions, according to the laws of each jurisdiction
- Exemption from the license plate tax, in some jurisdictions.
How is it processed?
You have to go to the Disability area of the Ministry of Development or the Ministry of Health of each Municipality to find out about requirements to start the process according to each disability and manage the request for appointments for the evaluation.
